Håkon has studied under instructors such as Natalia Shakhovskaya, Frans Helmerson and Truls Mørk, with Bjørn Solum at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo, Norway, and Thomas Demenga in Basel, Switzerland. He is currently completing a master's degree (MA) in Specialized Music Performance in Zurich, Switzerland. The young cellist has distinguished himself at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Wolf Trap Center, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Victoria Hall and the Norwegian Opera in Oslo.
Håkon has worked with some of Norway's and the world's leading musicians, such as Leif Ove Andsnes, Arve Tellefsen, Håvard Gimse, Measha Brueggergosman, Maria Luigia Borsi, Seiji Ozawa, Lily Maisky, Kirill Troussov, Alexander Sitkovetsky, Sylvia Schwartz and Danjulo Ishizaka. He has also received numerous Norwegian and international awards and distinctions as a performer. Håkon plays on a Francesco Ruggieri cello (Cremona, Italy, 1687) generously made available by Norway's Anders Sveeas charitable foundation.
